As the Director of Technology, you will be responsible for leading, managing, and scaling our technology teams in order to successfully deliver digital client experiences. You’ll partner with executive and cross-functional leadership to set departmental standards, optimize processes, and oversee team development. To be successful in this role, you will need hands-on technical knowledge across multiple disciplines and systems.

Responsibilities:

Builds, manages, and develops a global, multidisciplinary technology team.

Oversees the development and delivery of end-to-end digital projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.

Supports business development activities, including proposal development, project estimates, and client pitches.

Reviews project functional and technical requirements; proactively identifies and mitigates technology risks.

Serves as a technical subject matter expert and leads client conversations to assess technology needs, recommend solutions, and foster relationships.

Ensures the creation and maintenance of critical product documentation (technical requirements, system infrastructure, etc.).

Defines and implements software development standards and processes.

Coordinates with third-party hosting providers and oversees the support and monitoring of client products.

Ensures quality standards are maintained, including code reviews, testing, and performance.

Explores and adopts best practices, industry trends, and emerging technologies.

Ensures compliance with industry standards, security protocols, and ethical technology practices.

Leads and fosters a culture of innovation, collaboration, and professional development.

Commutes to our Washington, D.C. office for internal and client meetings, as needed.

Travels internationally to our Chișinău office, on occasion.

Skills & Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.

10+ years of hands-on software development experience, using various frameworks and programming languages (i.e. Drupal, Python, JavaScript, Java, NodeJS, ReactJS, Twig, SASS, etc.).

7+ years of experience managing global teams, including onshore and offshore employees and contractors.

5+ years of experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven digital experiences and support business intelligence initiatives.

5+ years of experience building data warehouses, with a deep understanding of architecture, design patterns, and best practices to ensure scalable and efficient data solutions.

Experience with cloud infrastructure and services, including AWS and GCP.

Excellent client-facing skills, capable of translating complex technical and non-technical concepts.

Expert knowledge of the software development lifecycle, including Agile methodologies.

Proven experience leading system integration efforts, including APIs and database technologies.

Salary Range

$185,000 - $225,000 a year
