Introducing a PAID job skills training opportunity provided by

Georgia Power 

The Lineworker Entry Program 

This collaborative effort between Georgia Power and BLOC Resources is designed to provide aspiring lineworkers with introductory training and skills necessary to enter the electric utility industry. This program aims to address the growing demand for talented individuals from the Atlanta metro area.  

 
  • The program will be conducted over a period of 6 weeks, with a combination of classroom instruction and practical training.
  • The rate of pay is $21.00/hour
  • The program will operate 4 days a week from 7:00 am – 5:30 pm daily 
  • The program will cover key areas that include Technical Training, Safety Protocols, Field Exercises, and Career Development!
To be eligible for the Lineworker Entry Program, participants must:
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and not have lost the privilege to gain a CDL within the prior 3 years.
  • Be physically fit and able to perform the duties of a lineworker.
  • Pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Have reliable transportation to the Georgia Power Klondike Training Facility (located at 4826 Klondike Road, Lithonia, GA 30038)

At the end of the 6-week training period, candidates will be evaluated by Georgia Power. Georgia Power will select those individuals best prepared to continue into a full-time lineworker apprentice job.

Participation in the Program does not guarantee full-time employment.
