Job Description

Summerfield Waldorf School & Farm High School is seeking a part-time Spanish teacher to lead three combined Spanish 1-2 classes per week in the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate will be able to carry the lessons entirely in Spanish and follow the indicated content guidelines for the curriculum at Summerfield.

At Summerfield, we teach over 250 students aged 3-18 on a 38-acre cell phone free campus which includes a Biodynamic® farm, nature preserve, circus tent and an Art/Tech facility. There are 60 students in our high school and the small class sizes (15 students avg.) foster a supportive learning environment, strong student-teacher relationships, and deep engagement. 

Qualifications:

• Fluency in Spanish
• Classroom teaching experience, preferably at the high school level
• Ability to work collaboratively
• B.A. preferred
• Experience in Waldorf teaching, or interest in learning Waldorf pedagogy, is desired.

Compensation: $68 per class (including prep). Three 45-minute classes per week. 

Physical Requirements:

Summerfield is both a school and farm. Though we do have paved pathways between various buildings, many pathways are unpaved and rough. Some have steep inclines and declines, steps and holes. Employees must have the ability to:

• Navigate various-density and uneven surfaces for extended periods of time and significant lengths.
• Stand and/or sit for extended periods of time.
• Squat, stoop and/or bend over.
• Reach overhead, grasp, push/pull up to 35 pounds for short distances.
• Lift and carry up to 45 lbs. at waist height for short distances.
