Job Description

Applications are solicited for an individual to be appointed as a postdoctoral associate under the supervision of Prof. Jonas Boergel. The research will focus broadly on synthetic organic and inorganic chemistry, catalysis, and the use of spectroscopic methods.

Research in the Boergel Lab focuses on creating new synthetic methodologies for the functionalization of simple organic molecules and late-stage functionalization with relevance to process scale. We aim to implement new sustainable molecular and porous material based catalysts and abundant reagent, and use a variety of spectroscopic techniques to characterize new reactive intermediates. Research in the laboratory and preparing scientific publications is the main task for postdoctoral associates in our laboratory. In addition, postdocs are required to mentor students and participate in writing of grant applications. More information about our laboratory can be found here:

The terms of employment, which would be a year, with a possibility of renewal, include a competitive salary and other benefits. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and candidates will be considered until the position is filled.

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, this position's annual base salary range is $62,500.00 ? $62,500.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Chemistry and no more than five years of prior postdoctoral training with a strong background in organic, inorganic, organometallic chemistry, spectroscopy, or biocatalysis.
