Do you have a passion for produce and expertise in fruit ripening? Join our team at a premier food distribution warehouse in Palmdale, CA, as a Ripening Manager. We are looking for a knowledgeable and dedicated professional to oversee the banana ripening process, ensuring optimal quality and customer satisfaction.
Position Overview:
The Ripening Manager is responsible for the efficient operation of the Ripening facility within the warehouse. They will work closely with customers and vendors to ensure optimal fulfillment of orders with product that meets customer standards, and in accordance with procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Utilize forecasting model based on information from customer, historical demand, and business capacity.
- Manage the continuous ripening cycle to meet demand and maintain product quality and shelf-life.
- Conduct required inbound inspections to ensure product meets criteria prior to the ripening process.
- Work closely with Forecasting Manager to communicate with customer and Distribution Center any anticipated changes in demand or supply.
- Implement and maintain proper sanitation in area.
- Implement proper Preventive Maintenance program for rooms and equipment.
- Track and maintain records of any customer feedback, with corrective actions, as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Strong Planning and organizational skills
- Knowledge of warehouse/logistics
-Computer Skills: Knowledge in MS Office, Excel. WMS (GOLD) system literacy preferred.

Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed
Days company closed: Christmas and New Years, Thanksgiving they work or work 1/2 day
During their go-live period (projects) employees can work 10 hours a day
Vacation Time Blackout period during busy season Company has blackout dates where no one can take vacation October-February
