Job Description
The Sawmill Machine Operator is responsible for the operation of a variety of equipment, general machine maintenance functions related to the sawmill production.
Machine Operator ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Identify different species and wood conditions.
- Perform a variety of machine operations, cleaning, and assisting with repairs of equipment.
- Perform frequent checks to assure the machine is producing material to spec.
- Adjust machines operated to maintain spec product.
- Identify maintenance-related issues, assist and offer solutions.
- Ability to drive and operate a skid steer as needed.
- Ability to follow Preventative Maintenance program in place to grease, inspect, and maintain the machinery and building.
- Have detail to keep a clean and organized work area.
- Ability to use powered hand tools correctly and safely.
