This position plays a key role in translating customer advertising objectives into data driven and effective ad schedules. This key team member is integral part in helping the political sales team to maximize multiscreen solutions, which has a direct impact on our ability to deliver and exceed on client’s marketing and advertising expectations. This position requires effective communication skills and attention to detail, in a fast paced sales environment.

  • Operate in a lead role, as mentor and escalation point of contact, to Spectrum Reach internal cross-functional teams and Ampersand, on all national and field political business.
  • Oversee execution of linear and digital campaigns from beginning to end. Monitor campaigns for any needed changes (and related make goods) by liaising with the Political Sales Team, National and Local Sales teams, Operations and Ampersand.
  • Under broader supervision, responsible for account management for the Political team, for the markets they are responsible for, in partnership with the respesctive Political Sales leader.
  • Work cross functionally with Pricing and Inventory to ensure that all inventory is used effectively and priced appropriately and provide guidance to Ampersand when necessary especially as it relates to high profile programming avails and overall inventory management.
  • Develop and deliver training to internal cross-functional teams, including presentations and other supporting documentation that outlines workflows and best practices.
  • Utilize data on a daily and weekly basis to identify clients with large revenue discrepancies and ensure lost revenue is recouped as quickly as possible.
  • Support Political Sales team with reporting and aid in presentation materials for internal and external meetings and events.
  • May have contact with Clients at discretion of Political team.
  • Perform other duties as requested by manager.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload based on sales team’s needs and internal deadlines
  • Computer software skills including MS Office, primarily Excel, at a minimum is required
  • Proven track record writing effective reports and business correspondence
  • Experience effectively communicating in written and verbal form to both internal and external individuals.
  • Experience communicating and interacting with external clients in a sales or related role
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communications with overarching skill to translate data, information, and research into powerful points of view—ability to craft and tell a compelling story
  • Familiar with writing rationales and/or agency POVs (“Point of Views”)
  • Clear knowledge of media terms as well as media formulas & calculation
  • Team-oriented and ability to work with different personalities
  • Cooperative and helpful outlook
  • Detail-oriented, organized, analytical-minded and eager to learn
  • Needs to be able to adapt to change

Required Education 

Bachelor's degree or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years

  • Experience in an Advertising Agency, Media, and/or Advertising Sales team - 4+
  • Familiarity with and experience in digital marketing; understanding of online campaign development, metrics, and optimization strategies - 1+
  • Prior experience as National Sales Support Specialist, Account Coordinator, Account Planner, or related Media background (Ad agency, Media etc.) - 1+

Preferred Work Related Work Experience and Number of Years

  • Experience in Media Sales or as a Media Buyer – 3+
  • Experience in software similar to Charter's sales support packages
  • Experience and in-depth knowledge of research databases, tools and applications, including (but not limited to) Nielsen, Scarborough, MRI, Kantar, BIA/Kelsey, eMarketer, and comScore

The base pay for this position generally is between $66,500.00 and $106,300.00 . The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
