Course: Introduction to Film Scoring
This course is an introduction to the art of writing musical scores for film. Topics include identifying the various stakeholders in the film industry, musical characterization and concept development, the use of various compositional devices in film scores, orchestration, use of electronic music and contemporary rhythm sections in films and television scores, and entrepreneurial considerations. Prerequisite: WSA 320, WSA 301, MUS 463.

Facilitate classroom lecture and discussions while incorporating innovative teaching strategies.
Engage students in cutting-edge technologies and industry trends.
Assess student performance and mentor classroom success to prepare them for their chosen career path.
Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
What You Will Bring:
Preferred: Master of Music or Master of Arts in composition or a discipline related to commercial music AND
3 years of professional experience in the music commercial music industry .
